All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi

After completing my Higher Secondary Education, I got an opportunity to pursue my career as a medical student in Medical College, Kolkata, which is the oldest medical institute in India. Medical College, Kolkata was a good platform for me to study about different diseases, search them in literatures and define a treatment plan. It gave me an opportunity to understand the importance of good research work. I supported the research by completing assigned experiments, and recording the massive amounts of data for my seniors as well. I used to take active participation in departmental seminars and presentations. I used to lead my colleagues in the research projects conducted by the Department of community medicine as a part of curriculum. This developed my interest towards research. I also presented the research works in front of my professors.

My interest progressed further when I got selected in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. I got an opportunity to work under the Principal Supervision of Prof. Rajesh Malhotra who himself has a keen interest in Research. Training myself as an Orthopedic Surgeon I had a double benefit of being associated with him in various departmental research projects. The first of our research work was presented in the Annual Conference of Indian Orthopedic Conference (IOACON) as well as the Congress of European Federation of National Associations of Orthopedics and Traumatology (EFORT). There are many more in progress. After completing my Masters in orthopedics Surgery, I continued my academic activities by joining as a Research Associate in the Department of Orthopedics under the principal supervision of Prof. Rajesh Malhotra. He is a wonderful guide to work with and have further improved my research skills. My research experiences have been encouraging ones due in part to my interpersonal skills. I like to work in teams. I am enthusiastic to learn new things. I will continue to show the same amount of enthusiasm and skill in carrying out the current clinical research fellowship.
