My research career started as a fellow in a Wellcome Trust project with Dr. Pushkar Sharma at National Institute of Immunology, Delhi, a place where the definition of commitment to science got clear to me. Later, I moved to Europe for my PhD and studied cell cycle regulation in laboratory of Prof. Ana Carrera, CNB, Madrid, Spain. My thesis was awarded with additional distinction “matrícula de honor” from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Later, I joined as EMBO & Marie Curie fellow in Prof. Marco Foiani lab at IFOM, Milan. This is where I got inspired to start my own research laboratory and work on an idea that was stimulating and definitely challenging the previous dogma. I came back to India in 2014 and started my group at Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, a laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial research, India.

My present research work focus is on determining the connecting links between the key players in genome instability with mechanotransduction (through structural modifications) and their impact on cell plasticity.
